FIXATED or FOCUSED

Yesterday my daughter Mackenzie led our family in what she dubbed the “Corona Gratitude” game. She had us write out on stickies thoughts of gratitude, lessons  being learned, whatever was important to us and place them in a big mason jar without reading aloud so one day soon we could come back to as memories we wanted to be reminded of in the midst of adversity. Very Cool.

I put in 3 things I want to remember -

COURAGEOUS LEADERSHIP

It was a reminder to me from a young leader, that while some Fixate on problems, leaders Focus on Solutions.

Leadership is defined in the midst of adversity.

A leader’s mettle is forged by fire.

Decision Points become Defining Moments.

Teams are forged not just formed.

FIRST RESPONDERS -

Our son MacLean wasn’t able to be with us, he’s missed a lot of family dinners the past few weeks- He’s an ICU nurse, our First Responder on the Front Lines where the battle against an unseen enemy is being waged - we’re being CAREFUL , SUPER PROUD, and PRAYING PROTECTION to say the least!!

BOLD PRAYERS -

I’ll never forget the March 15 National Day of Prayer and listening to the faith filled prayers of five 20 somethings gathered at our beach house beseeching God to HEAR and HEAL our land - POWERFUL (seems like months although it was only 3 weeks ago - crazy).

"There’s more to come: We continue to SHOUT OUR PRAISE even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!"

Apostle Paul - Romans 5:3-5 MSG

Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I'll show you someone who has overcome adversity.

Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by GOD; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses.”
